What is a Crone?
A crone here at the Magical Crone is a woman who is celebrated for her years on earth.
A virtouso is someone who has spent years perfecting their skills in music. A master craftsperson is somone who has studied and loved their craft, could be that of a writer, painter, wood worker, or a potter. Virtousos and master craftspersons gain respect for dedication to being the best at what they love. A woman gains respect for her dedication to her life. At the heart of it all we need to love our selves for all that we have done, and even the hard lessons we have earned.

Crone means crown. In ancient cultures a year after a woman had her last menstrual flow a celebration was to be had. The women in the village made a crown of flowers for the newly annointed crone and placed this wreath upon her head. I imagine that her sisters, friends of a lifetime, her children, possibly her husband if she were married, and her brothers are there on this glorious night, everyone is here for the soul reason of celebrating this milestone in their beloved woman’s life.
